Another week, another Newspoll.

Tanck government engagement blog another week another poll

By Rory Parker

Another week, another Newspoll, another indication that this Election is going to be closer than ever! With Labor leading the primary vote percentage, it’s impossible to discount them as the next possible government - but don’t discount the fact that it’s an uphill battle for Labor, the LNP are savvy campaigners and, of course, what the polls looked like immediately prior to the 2019 Election. It’s been a strange year - we’ve soldiered through floods, pandemics, and an overseas war. So expect the unexpected: things could get strange and it’s important to be prepared.

Tanck’s free Federal Election Checklist will help your organisation to get prepared and leverage what you can out of this upcoming election. Taking the checklist’s steps will amplify your organisation’s advocacy and set you up for your greatest likelihood of success: by mapping out timeframes for campaigning work, providing insider tips on key stakeholders, and recommending best-practice options for social media engagement.

Having ‘champions’ - people that you can call on who will support your organisation - within either side of politics can help you navigate through these strange times: assisting you to cut through the noise when Australia is facing such challenging times. By mapping your influence, engaging with targeted stakeholders, and building relationships and rapport within political circles, you organisation will be in an enviable position - not just when Australia goes to the polls, but also for the next time we face strange and difficult circumstances.

But building a base of political support takes both time and effort, so it’s important to do what you can today. And, don’t forget, the Victorian Election is coming up in November and New South Wales goes to the polls in early 2023: the steps you take Federally today can put you in good stead for other upcoming elections. Download the Federal Election checklist now and put your organisation in the best possible position to leverage opportunity from the upcoming election.
